School Meals at Almondbury Community School
Kirklees Catering Service provides meals for all three centres. All meals are prepared on the schools premises. It is very important for all young people to eat a healthy, balanced diet and Kirklees Catering Service takes this responsibility very seriously. Schools serve a nutritious and tasty two course meal, freshly prepared on site.
From September 2014 all children in Reception and Years 1 and 2 are entitled to receive a Universal Infant Free School Meal (UIFSM) every day.
The UIFSM should not be confused with the Free School Meal (FSM). If you’re on a low income and receive certain benefits you may be eligible for additional support such as free milk and free school meals for children not in reception or Years 1 and 2. All children who are entitled to FSM bring an additional £1300 into the school budget to support the child's learning experiences at school. If your child is entitled to FSM you still need to apply and register your entitlement.
To find out more call 01484 221928. All eligible parents should apply as it gives your child extra support and helps their school.
