Sports Day 2016
Sports Day was held on Friday 24 June and was a great event for the whole school. In the morning the Field Events took place for Years 5 - Years 9. These were shot, discus, javelin and long jump.
In the afternoon the Primary children took part in a wide variety of activities that challenged different skills. Each class was divided into house groups to participate in a diverse range of sporting exercises that involved throwing, jumping, hand-eye co-ordination etc. Points were scored for successful completion of the tasks. The points were totalled and a presentation took place at the end of the afternoon, Diamond House were the winner at Key Stage 1 and Amethyst House were the winners at Key Stage 2.
The older pupils competed in traditional track events and again well done to everyone who participated and special congratulations to the students who set new records. In total the boys broke six Almondbury records and the girls broke five Almondbury records. The challenge is “What can YOU do in 2017?”
