Queen's Birthday Celebrations
The primary part of the school was awash with red, white and blue plus a really regal presence with numerous Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses around the building. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t really kind to us so the special picnic had to be relocated to the school gym. However, the rain didn’t dampen the spirit of the day as all the primary children assembled together for a ‘Big Sing’. Patriotically the opening song was the National Anthem, with the children continuing to sing with actions, ‘Hey Mr Miller’, ‘Reach’ ‘Shine’ and concluding with a rousing rendition of ‘Happy Birthday Your Majesty’. The younger children were supporting crowns that they had made in class, they also drew a portrait of the Queen, played ‘Pass the Crown’ and ‘Pin the Tail on the Corgi’.
In addition all the coins were displayed together with the message, ‘Happy Ninetieth Birthday Your Majesty’ which raised money for the children’s charity, Barnado’s.
