Year 1 Showcase Assembly - March 2016

Well done all our Year 1 children who led a special assembly showing all the learning they have been doing this term. It got off to an energetic start with children enjoying dancing and singing along to the catchy tune ‘Cheerleader’. This was followed by a practical demonstration of the mathematical skills that have been acquired - counting forwards and backwards, fractions and a fun song with actions which helped them count in 10’s up to 100. One pupil read the story  ‘Farmer Duck’ which was brought to life with masks, actions and appropriate noises! There was also a demonstration of their science learning about the basic needs of animals and plants. The children proudly showed the imaginative and stunning artwork that they have created. The assembly was concluded with a video showing the visit from the Fire Brigade last half term. Thank you to all parents and carers who attended this assembly on Tuesday, I think you’ll agree the children have been working very hard.
